SCDF was alerted to a fire at 40 Jalan Gaharuat 0416hrs. 2 Fire Engines, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Ambulances and 1 Support Appliance were immediately dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, SCDF personnel found the single storey unit well alight and immediately conducted fire fighting operations with 3 water jets.
Fire involved the contents of the unit. Fire was brought under control within 15 minutes.
SCDF conveyed 3 occupants (1 male and 2 females) to NUH for smoke inhalation.
SCDF fire fighters also found 2 bodies in the unit.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
