This is an update to the News Release on the fire at No 800 Upper Bukit Timah Road at 8.53pm on 12 November 2012.
In addition to the contents of the fire that were mentioned in the News Release last night (pallets of wood, stacks of metal and food products), the warehouse also stored about 70 barrels (200 litre each) of detergent-based concentrate. As a result of the fire, about 40 barrels were damaged, causing the detergent to flow out of the warehouse. The product is bio-degradable and soluble in water.
Investigation into the cause of fire is still in progress.
