At 1038hrs, SCDF was alerted to a fire at No. 24 Gul Lane. SCDF resources were immediately dispatched to the location and we arrived at the incident site within 5 minutes. Upon arrival, SCDF personnel found the fire raging and black smoke was seen from the premise. SCDF personnel immediately donned breathing apparatus sets and conducted offensive fire fighting to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring units. The incident site was divided into three sectors and 7 jets were used to bring the fire under control within 45 minutes. SCDF also conducted search operations to ensure that no one was trapped.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
