SCDF received a call at around 1218hrs reporting smoke seen issuing from the junction of Sakra Road and Jurong Island Highway. SCDF dispatched 3 fire engines, 1 support vehicle (Hazmat Control Vehicle) to the location. The SCDF resources arrived within five minutes.
Upon arrival, there was no sign of fire or any reported injuries. SCDF responders using detectors picked up traces of vapour around the area. As a precautionary measure, SCDF, supported by ExxonMobil"s in-house emergency response team, set up a total of eight (8) large water jets to suppress vapour build-up. SCDF is currently working with the relevant agency to isolate and shut off the leak.
