At 0200hrs (Local Time) today, the local authorities announced the end of the rescue phase and that international assistance for search and rescue operations will no longer be required.
The local Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) responders will continue with the recovery work.
The SCDF contingent is standing by at the base camp, preparing for the contingent"s departure and also for any ad hoc deployment.
The contingent is planning for return to Singapore over the next few days.
