At 1340 hrs, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident involving a lorry that skidded along ECP exit to Changi Coast Road towards the airport. As a result, the lorry overturned to the side. 1 Fire Engine, 1 Red Rhino, 2 Support Vehicles and 1 Ambulance were immediately dispatched. Upon arrival, SCDF found an elderly male Chinese trapped in the driver seat of the lorry. He was alert and conscious upon SCDF"s arrival.
The casualty was pinned from his knee downwards by the dashboard and steering wheel of the vehicle. SCDF used hydraulic spreader and cutter to free the casualty from the wreckage. He suffered bruises on the leg and was conveyed to Changi General Hospital for treatment.
